“I’m a huge nerd,” says Jay Baruchel who plays Dave, AKA the sorcerer’s apprentice. “Growing up, my favorite stuff in my whole life has been guys who shoot energy out of their hands at monsters, and telekenesis and all that cool stuff. I never got to audition for that stuff, it was always for, you know, the Milo Ventamiglia type, but I’m the fan. So for me to read a script as a part that I might be considered for, something that I could play, I was like ‘oh, I have to be in this movie.’ Just to have a footage of me shooting energy out of my hand, that was the deal closure for me.”

You're right, very bad business decision. switching the main actor is a very bad business decision that could ruin this franchise! All that i'm saying is DONT DO IT! Dont fix something that ain't broke, my kids are already crying for "the original" Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire). We have never heard of this Garfield guy. But we have watched all three Spider Man movies many times, just because Mr.Maguire played taht role, he created the character. We won't watch it anymore.
